This June, the Hampton Wick Association invites the community to come together for a relaxed, welcoming afternoon of books, conversation and connection. Books & Bakes is a free, drop-in event for everyone: families, children, neighbours and friends, where all ages are warmly welcome.
There will be a selection of baked treats on hand to enjoy throughout the afternoon…
The idea is simple: bring along one to five books to swap. It might be a much-loved children’s book, a novel you’ve finished, or a cookbook you return to often. All genres are welcome, and there are no rules about what you can bring or take. The aim is to encourage discovery, conversation and an easy exchange of stories.
Alongside the book swap, we’ll be creating a Recipes of Hampton Wick pin-up board. Anyone who wishes can bring a favourite recipe, written on any piece of paper, and pin it up for others to photograph and keep. This will form a small shared collection of recipes that reflects the people, families and traditions that make up Hampton Wick.
Above all, Books & Bakes is about bringing the local community together in a simple, friendly way, somewhere people can drop in at any point during the afternoon, browse, chat, and enjoy time together over books, shared ideas and tasty treats!
