Life Stories Book Launch

Throughout the summer of 2025, the Teddington & Hampton Wick Voluntary Care Group local charity (TedCare) collected the life stories of some of the longest living residents in our community.

The HWA helped out with the design and production of a publication, “Life Stories” which will be distributed locally to raise awareness for the charity.

The HWA was also pleased to host an event to launch the booklet. The event took place in Bullen Hall on 25th September 2025, attended by HWA volunteers and other local Hampton Wick residents as well as our guests from TedCare.

The evening showcased an exhibition featuring highlights from some of the life stories. Drinks were served together with home-made snacks provided by HWA volunteers. A guest commented: “A very enjoyable and friendly occasion. It was particularly interesting not only to read a selection of the memories of those interviewed but also to mix with some of those interviewed and those who put the excellent accompanying book together. The book deserves a wide circulation.”

The exhibition will be on display at Hampton Wick Library from 26th September until early November when it will move to Teddington Library.
