School Street Trial – Lower Teddington Road closure

Saturday 17th October 2020

School Street Trial – Lower Teddington Road closure

School Streets are timed road closures on streets around schools. The idea is to aid social distancing and make the journey to and from school safer for children. However it may have an impact on residents nearby perhaps as a result of cars parking in neighbouring streets.

The Council has been working with St John the Baptist CE Junior School in Hampton Wick to trial a scheme. Since 12 October 2020, Lower Teddington Road has had restricted vehicle access from Seymour Road to Broom Park between 8.15 to 8:50am and 3 to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday and term time only. Residents living within the closure, Blue Badge holders and emergency vehicles are still able to access the road but other vehicles (including those driven by those dropping off children at school) are restricted.

The scheme is managed by volunteers. If you would be interested in volunteering, please click here to contact us and we can put you in contact with those organising the volunteering.

Click here to give feedback on the scheme generally, via the Council’s consultation page.
